Toby Pidgeon
Director of Operations

Toby Pidgeon is a nonprofit operations leader with more than 18 years of experience helping mission driven organizations strengthen food access, build resilience, and grow in ways that truly serve their communities. He brings a thoughtful and people focused approach to operations, balancing strategy, systems, and relationships to support lasting impact.

Toby spent much of his career at Feeding Westchester, where he held several senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Business Solutions and Vice President of Program Operations and Administration. During his time there, he played a key role in scaling services to reach more than 240,000 residents each year and expanding food distribution capacity by over 200%, helping the organization meet growing community need with consistency and care.

Known for making complex organizations run more smoothly, Toby has led enterprise-wide system implementations, improved warehouse and logistics operations, strengthened grant and compliance processes, and introduced data and performance tools that support clearer decision making. His work helped reduce fulfillment times by 75%, improve coordination across teams, and ensure the organization was well prepared to operate through periods of rapid growth and crisis.

At the heart of Toby’s work is a deep commitment to community impact. He has led the launch of several high impact initiatives addressing child and senior food insecurity, including a mobile pantry program that distributed more than 2 million pounds of food in its first year and continues to serve as a foundation for program expansion. His approach consistently centers dignity, access, and equity alongside strong operational execution.

A collaborative and values driven leader, Toby is passionate about building strong teams and fostering meaningful partnerships across departments and organizations. He has also worked with peers at the national level to develop food safety standards adopted across the Feeding America network, helping strengthen donor confidence and ensure food is safe and reliable for all who rely on it.
