Every September, communities across the country come together for Hunger Action Month—a nationwide effort to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire meaningful action.
The Pantry proudly participates each year by mobilizing donors, volunteers, and partners to support local families. Hunger Action Month matters because it reminds us that when our community comes together, we can make a lasting difference—and help ensure no neighbor goes without the nutritious food they deserve.
Hunger Action Month 2025 Highlights
In September, The Pantry led the charge for Hunger Action Month (HAM) in Northern Westchester County, joining food banks and food pantries across the County and across the U.S. to raise awareness and take action against food insecurity.
To mobilize support and community engagement, The Pantry launched a campaign of activities throughout September, including a Food Drive on September 20, shopping partnerships throughout the month, and tables at The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce’s Septemberfest and New Castle Day on September 13th.
Thank you to all who joined us and helped make a difference for our neighbors facing food insecurity.
FOOD DRIVES
On Saturday, September 20, 2024, The Pantry hosted six supermarket food drives from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Community Partnerships
A collaboration to support The Pantry kicking off during Hunger Action Month.
In a yearlong effort to support The Pantry, oHHo and Pizza Girls are teaming up to make a difference, beginning this September during Hunger Action Month. For every Pizza Girl pizza sold at the oHHo Bedford location, a portion of the sale will be donated directly to The Pantry to help feed local families.
Plus, oHHo customers at the Bedford shop can choose to round up their purchases at the register, with all proceeds supporting our mission for one year.
Throughout September 2024, The Ambleside Pub in Mount Kisco partnered with The Pantry for the second year of their specially created cask blonde ale, Fight Hunger. During the month, the Pub donated $2 for every $11 full pint and $1 for every $6 half pint sold to support The Pantry’s mission. (Note: Full pints at Ambleside are 4 oz. larger than a traditional American pint.)
Throughout September 2024, visitors to Mount Kisco’s Exit 4 Food Hall supported The Pantry by mentioning the organization with their order. During the month, 10% of each participating food purchase was donated back to The Pantry to help support local families.
Throughout September 2024, Four Seasons Flower Shop in Mount Kisco partnered with The Pantry for Petals with Purpose: One Bloom at a Time. During the month, $5 from every special bouquet sold was donated to The Pantry.
On Friday, September 5, and every Friday through October 3, 2024, Mt. Kisco Seafood hosted its annual $5 for 5 Fridays campaign in support of The Pantry. During the promotion, a $5 customer donation helped fund fish donations to The Pantry.
On Monday, September 29, 2024, the Bedford Armonk Rotary hosted its first annual golf outing at Salem Golf Club to benefit The Pantry. Proceeds from the event helped support The Pantry’s mission.
